Title: Prediction of ground reaction forces and moments by using gait analysis silhouette tracking method compared to marker tracking and force platform method

Authors: M. Muehling (1), T. Weber (1),(2), Ph. Russ (3), S. Dendorfer (1),(2)
1 Laboratory for Biomechanics, Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg, Regensburg, Germany
2 Regensburg Center of Biomedical Engineering, OTH and University Regensburg, Regensburg, Germany
3 Simi Reality Motion Systems GmbH, Unterschleissheim, Germany

Content: This work describes accuracy of ground reaction force and joint moment prediction by using only markerless tracking data instead of marker data and force plates. This work is a first proof of concept for getting markerless 3D data and predicting forces, athletes can now be tested just on their playground during training or competitions analyzing full kinematics and even kinetics - no limits to a lab, no preparation of athletes, no specific limited areas for testing an athlete.
